Barraquer contributes to the UIC Grants and Funding Programme

For years Barraquer has maintained a close relationship with the International University of Catalonia (UIC), of which Professor Rafael I. Barraquer is Full Professor of Ophthalmology. In this sense, the Centre has been promoting excellence of training and young talent with actions such as backing the UIC Grants and Funding Programme.

Last Friday, January 27, Francesc Ballbé, director of the Barraquer Foundation, represented our organisation at the UIC grants award ceremony for the 2022-2023 academic year. The event was held in the University's Aula Magna and was attended by 300 of the 1,000 grant students, in addition to the different deans of the faculties and representatives of the various collaborating institutions and companies.

During the event, as part of the UIC's annual campaign #NingunTalentoSinFuturo, its commitment to quality education and academic excellence was restated, as well as the interest in promoting equal opportunities for all students. As the Barraquer Ophthalmology Centre we would like to reiterate our support for the students and encourage them to continue with their training of excellence.
