Can I wear contact lenses after lacrimal surgery?

There are two scenarios depending on the type of postoperative treatment:

If the lacrimal surgery performed is punctual opening (a procedure we call punctoplasty), then ointments are the postoperative treatment and contact lenses can get dirty, meaning your quality of vision will be poor.
However, if the tear duct surgery performed is lacrimal sac opening (dacryocystorhinostomy), a small silicone probe is placed in the internal canthus of the eye and treatment is eyedrops, for which the use of contact lenses on a daily basis is not contraindicated.
