What do you think is the importance of training in the field of ophthalmology?

To be a good ophthalmologist, it is essential to follow a solid training plan and stay up to date. The heritage of leading teachers in Spain must be taken advantage of and transmitted to new generations to provide the best service in eye care.

What type of training content do you teach in classes? How do you integrate research and innovation into student training?

I seek practicality in my classes, sharing real documented cases to convey clinical judgment and important details. I emphasize healthcare education and dedicate time to research in the specialized training program.

Why do you think Instituto Barraquer is a leader in ophthalmological education?

It is the pioneer school in the training of ophthalmologists in Spain. With more than 70 years dedicated to teaching and more than 150 trained ophthalmologists, its educational model has been strengthened and adapted to legislative, technological and generational demands.

How do students prepare for certification exams?

The acquisition of theoretical knowledge is essential. Our pioneering program covers all areas of ophthalmology, with mandatory periodic evaluations. Currently, we are the national centre with the most students successfully examined by the European Board of Ophthalmology.

What do you like most about teaching at Instituto Barraquer?
