How long do the effects of 'botox' last?

11/06/2024

The first effects of botox or botulinum toxin, appear three or four days after application. These effects help to reduce facial wrinkles caused by gesticulation in the upper third of the face (forehead, between the eyebrows and eye contour), resulting in a softened look and a more rejuvenated appearance.

The maximum results of botulinum toxin are usually achieved after 15 days. At this point, if necessary, a review will be carried out to optimize the final result. The most noticeable muscle relaxation is observed in the first three months, although the effects can last up to six months in some patients.

Gradually, these effects diminish and natural expression wrinkles reappear, prompting the patient to decide whether to undergo maintenance treatment. Repeated long-term treatment leads to progressive improvements in wrinkle intensity.

To respect the facial dynamics and natural beauty of each face, we prefer to be initially cautious with the amount of product used and conduct a more thorough follow-up.
