The importance of check-ups after removal of a tumor

Even though I’ve had a malignant tumour fully removed, do I need to continue having check-ups on my general health?

Yes, this is the case with uveal melanoma. We always recommend eye tracking before treatment and even if all further tests come back negative, you should continue to have check-ups as indicated by your oncology specialist.

Just one cell, undetectable in the preoperative phase, could be circulating in your bloodstream and it could nest in another organ in the form of metastasis.
