Non-surgical treatments for dark circles

28/06/2024

Dark circles are one of the main reasons for aesthetic consultations. Although these unsightly marks on the face often disappear with a good rest and a healthy lifestyle, many men and women continue to have them even after changing their habits and using various cosmetics.

For this reason, non-surgical aesthetic medical treatments stand as the definitive solution to eliminate any type of dark circles:

  • Hyaluronic acid (HA): it is the most popular anti-dark circle treatment, as it fills the area, restoring lost volume to strengthen the skin in this delicate area. It also acts as a barrier to prevent the colour of the blood vessels from showing through. When used to correct dark circles with mild bags, this treatment is popularly known as non-surgical blepharoplasty due to its visible effects.
  • Facial mesotherapy: in this antiaging cell renewal treatment, very superficial injections with a selection of nutrients are applied to the dermis. When combined with HA infiltration, this rejuvenating solution enhances the results of dark circles treatment.
  • Revitalizing peels: These peels regenerate the skin with a flash effect without removing layers of the dermis. Their non-invasive application stimulates the fibroblasts and growth factors, returning quality and smoothness to the skin. This makes them a suitable complement in the treatment of dark circles.

How long do the effects of the treatments last?

Generally, the effects of HA can be maintained for up to 24 months. The benefits of mesotherapy can last from 6 to 12 months, while those of revitalizing peels can last up to 30 days. With all of these treatments, immediate results are usually observed after the first session, and these results are enhanced with a personalized medical cosmetic routine for the patient, as well as healthy lifestyle habits.
