Fortunately, there are currently different options to correct these imperfections and restore beauty to your eyes, either without surgery or surgically:
Without surgery
The non-surgical option for the treatment of drooping eyelids is the CO2 laser treatment known as “Mini Bleph”, this is a procedure indicated for those patients who have a small excess of skin on their upper eyelids, or for those patients who have already had a blepharoplasty and want to prolong its effect.
Another non-surgical treatment is the injection of hyaluronic acid in the upper eyelids that, due to lack of volume, have a very sunken appearance or in cases of eyebrow drooping, repositioning it, providing volume and support.
In the case of bags or dark circles, it is possible to improve the appearance and even hide the eyelid furrow and bags with injections of hyaluronic acid. It must be said that not all patients are candidates, which is why it is very important that a prior evaluation be carried out with an oculoplasty specialist.
With surgery
The periocular cosmetic surgical treatment par excellence is blepharoplasty or eyelid surgery. It is a surgery that corrects excess skin and fat on the upper, lower, or both eyelids.
It is a highly demanded surgery that must be performed in a very personalized way, adjusting to the characteristics of the skin and fat of each patient. The objective is to achieve natural results, recovering the freshness and youth of the eyes.
It is essential to entrust the aesthetic approach to the eyelids to an expert team so that they can correctly choose the therapeutic option for each person.
At the Barraquer Ophthalmology Centre we have an aesthetic unit made up of oculoplastic ophthalmologists, among other professionals, specialized in aesthetic medicine and knowledgeable about the delicate anatomy of the ocular contour.
Dr. Sandra Planella, ophthalmologist at the Barraquer Ophthalmology Centre
