Accommodative strabismus treatment involves total correction of the long-sightedness using glasses or contact lenses. It’s fundamental that the child wears their glasses all day to prevent the strabismus from becoming unbalanced. If the whole deviation can be neutralised with optical correction, then strabismus surgery is not required. At the age of 21, we can indeed assess the possibility of correcting the long-sightedness via refractive surgery, as that way we will eliminate the optical error and in turn the consequence, i.e., the deviation.
