When will my near sightedness stop?

27/01/2020

Simple myopia (near-sightedness) usually begins in childhood, it increases in adolescence and normally stabilises once the body’s development is complete (18-22 years). High myopia usually increases more quickly and stabilises later on in life.

It’s difficult to determine a specific age as it depends on many factors, the most important probably being the number of dioptres, i.e., the higher the myopia the longer it will take to stabilise. The majority of myopia does not usually increase continually past the age of 25, however we cannot rule out a random increase beyond that age.
