We are back at Fundació La Salut Alta

On Tuesday, November 28th, as part of the 'Mirem per tu' program, the Barraquer Foundation orchestrated another comprehensive eye health check-up day at Fundació La Salut Alta. This non-profit organization, headquartered in Badalona, diligently serves 130 children and adolescents on a daily basis from the neighbourhood through various socio-educational support programs.

During this visit, we reached out to a total of 35 users, of whom 13 will be directed to General Óptica for a more thorough optometric examination. This process aims to determine their exact prescription and provide them with glasses that will effectively address their vision issues. Additionally, two individuals with potential eye conditions will soon receive specialized attention at the Barraquer Ophthalmology Centre.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to our colleagues from the Barraquer Ophthalmology Centre, namely Dr. Gloria Segura and Dr. Estela Rojas, along with Albert Giménez, a dedicated volunteer optometrist. We would also like to commend the commendable work and organizational skills of the professionals at Fundació La Salut Alta, whose support greatly facilitated our efforts throughout.

As we wrap up this year, this marks the final day of check-ups for 2023. Over the past year, we've reached out to nine different organizations, providing assistance to more than 250 individuals, the majority of whom are children and young people.
